The Park, Bubble Bath and a Haircut

Can you believe I actually uploaded pictures off my camera so I have something to blog about! Most evenings Chris is hogging the laptop on Youtube or Craigslist. Anyway he is gone this evening so I am taking advantage.

Last weekend we had a couple of days of beautiful weather so we headed out to the park.

The sun was so warm that we took off our sweatshirts! The car said it was 49 degrees but I swear it was warmer than that. Either that or I am just a true Washingtonian.

Hayes loved running around the park. We went once before but Hayes wasn't really running around like he is now.

which lead to his first bubble bath, I'm pretty sure he liked it!

Well last night I finally broke down and Chris gave Hayes his first hair cut. Wwwwaahhhh!

It was time! He looked so cute with it a little long and he was definitely rocking a mullet, but every time he eats for some reason he feels the need to place his food on top of his head. Banana is not the easiest to get out without a full blown bath.

Uh oh, these questions kind of look like trouble! haha. Let's just say I was not the best teenager. Chris and I always joke are afraid Hayes is going to be a combination of the two of us in high school. We might be in trouble. haha

{no. 1} Describe what high school was like for you. Include details like where you went, your dedication to certain subjects, etc.

I went to Sehome High School. Where I did not fit in at all! It was such a clicky school where you weren't anyone if you didn't play sports. I got in my fair share of trouble in school, and I was lucky to graduate with decent grades. Thank goodness I did running start my senior year, so it got me out the high school and I was able to finish some college credits.

{no. 2} On a typical Friday night in high school, what could you be found doing?

Uh oh, you don't want to know. Let's just say I was not doing what I should be doing! Lots of wheelin and parties up on the mountains.
 

{no. 3} Did you own a car in high school?

Yep. I got my license the day I turned 16 actually I took the test when I was 15 1/2 so on my birthday I went in and picked up my license. I had a 1986 Dodge truck. Horrible on fuel mileage, but we could fit 4 in the cab and who knows how many in the back. 

 

{no. 4} Sum up your fashion sense in high school.

Redneck. I was such a rebel! I wore a rebel flag everyday, cowboy boots, cowboy hat, you name it; I pushed the limits at the preppy school. Oh and big bangs! Yeah I still rocked the 80s bangs well into the 2000s.

 

{no. 5} Have you attended any high school reunions?

Nope. We had a reunion 2 years ago but I didn't go. I still live in my home town and I probably would have gone if it hadn't been $50 a person to get in. Yeah not worth it to see people I never liked in the first place. I do still have a couple of friends from high school and we get together occasionally for dinner, but everyone else, who cares. 

Sorry for the horrible picture quality. I am way too lazy to find the actual pictures.  I stole these off my old Myspace, and obviously it was before digital. Actually I must have had to scan these to Myspace because I didn't have it in high school.

Tulips. Good thing I only live a couple of miles from Tulip Town, USA

{no. 2} Tell us about your favorite Valentine's Day:

I seriously can not remember a single Valentine's Day. I have no clue! Haha. Chris and I have been together almost 7 years, I am sure we did something for one of them? Maybe...

{no. 3} Was Valentine's Day a big deal when you were a kid?

Yes. My mom always made it special.  She always got us little gifts and valentines. In fact I think we got presents every holiday growing up! haha I guess I better step up my game!

{no. 4} If you could have any one thing for Valentine's Day what would it be?

Have a night out with Chris. We haven't had a date night in months. I would love to be able to sneak away sans kids and just spend time with him!
 

{no. 5} Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day?

Nope. Maybe I will make a nice dinner, and watch a movie after the kids are in bed?

{no. 1} What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

Gin and Tonic with lime. I might kind of be on a little bit of a roll with those. That is my preferred way to unwind after the kids are in bed.

{no. 2} Do you actually keep your resolutions for the New Year? 

I usually don't make New Year's resolutions, but I did this year. I even typed them up and saved it so I can keep going back and making sure I am doing them. So far so good though.

{no. 3} If you had to do one random act of kindness today, what would it be?

Leave a large tip after eating.

{no. 4} Do you have a bucket list, 101 in 1001 list, or any other list? If you do, what are some of your goals?

I don't really have a bucket list. I have some things in my head that I would like to do though, buy a house, take the kids to Disney, be a SAHM, volunteer at school or in the community.

{no. 5} Why do you love blogging?

I love meeting new friends.  I have got some really good advice from all of you! Thanks.

Since I have so many new followers, (Hi guys!) I thought it would be fun to tell you a little about myself.

{C} Chore you hate: Unloading the dishwasher. I have no problem loading it but for some reason I hate to unload it.

{D} Dogs: Diesel our Bullmastiff and Scout the grumpy old man is a Boxer

{E} Essential start to your day: Coffee. Even on the weekend I need my cup of coffee to feel alive. I usually only ever drink one cup though. More than that and I usually get a tummy ache

{I} Instruments you play: I played the violin in 5th grade, does that count?

{X} X-Rays you've had: My arm twice when I was little, both times it wasn't broken but I did bend the bone. I think my teeth are the only other x-rays I have had.

13 MONTHS

Yep that's right completely missed 11 and 12 so I guess this will be a mix of all of them. Let's just say Hayes from November 16th to now. haha

Sleepy Face

Well he actually had a Dr appointment January 7th. He was 24lbs 15 ounces, which is the 75% same as always. Hayes was 32 1/2" tall which is over 95% still right on the huge track and his head was 48cm which is 85%.

Well lets see, Hayes got his eighth tooth the end of November and now is trying to cut some molars.

Hayes is into everything, I swear that kid has radar or sonar or something because he knows when any door is open even a crack and makes a bee line for it. He has had his fingers smashed a few times because he is right on our heels when we are closing the door and he is trying to shove his way through.

Hayes spends most of his days literally running through the house yelling. He thinks it is so fun to run from one end of the house to the other yelling and making funny faces. He is so silly!

Hayes can pretty much understand and follow any directions we give him. He will go find his doggy, check on the doggies out the sliding glass door, get a book, get his bottle. He will also point to his nose, eyes, ears and mouth if you ask him.

He will walk to his high chair and stand with his arms up yelling when he is hungry.

Hayes actually enjoys playing by himself in his room quite often. He will go in and close the door behind him and just play, if you try to open the door back up he just runs over to it and slams in on you. When he is ready to come out he just starts yelling. haha

Hayes is very attached to his stuffed doggie. It was actually the first present he ever got. As soon as we found out we were having a boy the wife of a guy from work brought Hayes in a cute little outfit and this stuffed dog. Somehow along the way Hayes has fallen in love with his doggie.

We are working on disciplining Hayes. He is kind of turning into a wild child. He listens pretty good, but you can tell when he starts to get tired, because he just does what he wants or does things that he knows he should not do.For instance he will start throwing things over the baby gate so they fall down the stairs, or messing with the TV and the surround sound or standing on the base board heat and looking out the window.

Hayes still sleeps quite a bit, on the weekends he usually sleeps 14 hours at night and then takes 2 naps that range from 1-2 hours.

Hayes loves to read, if you are sitting on the couch he will always bring a book and throw it on your lap and then raise up his arms and grunt until you pick him up. Then he snuggles in and wants you to read. You have to be fast though, because he loves turning the pages and could care less if you are done with that page or not.

Hayes is really get to a fun age though. He loves going outside and exploring. Everywhere we go, he wants down so he can run. Haha this mama is hoping that he slows down a little at some point!

Words: Hayes can say mama (which can be either me or grandma) daddeee, Ma'am (that's what he calls me when he is upset) he also says something that sounds like tadee which is when he is pointing to a baby. He is constantly jabbering we just can't understand most of it yet.
