6 Months

What a surprise, I am late again! I had it all planned I would write this as soon as I took Hayes to his 6 month appointment, but then once again, time got away from me.

Stats: At his Dr appointment Hayes was 28 1/4 " even though when we measured him at home he was 29 1/4". Whatever. He weighed 19 lbs 7 ounces. The nurse said both were well over 95%.

Milestones: Hayes is scooting all over the place, he will get up on all fours and rock, but then loses balance and falls over. He is so close to sitting, He will sit for 10 to 20 seconds but then he gets distracted and tips over. He is still interested in everything. When you are carrying him, he has to be looking forward so he doesn't miss anything. My mom says that he nosy just like I was am.

Feeding: Hayes is still loving solid foods. He eats so much I can't believe it. He will also eat anything you put in his mouth. His Dr said that anything goes as fall as food, except honey, so we have been letting him try everything. He loved sucking on a dill pickle. Last night he sucked on a pineapple. He seems to love the flavor of everything. He still doesn't have any teeth, so he just has to suck on everything.

Behavior: I think the old nursery rhyme sums it up best "There was a little girl boy with a curl in the middle of his forehead, and when he was good he was very, very good, and when he was bad, he was horrid." Ha most of the time he is really good about entertaining himself, but if he is tired or hungry, watch out. It seems like he has been more clingy than normal, I'm not sure if he is teething or what, but man that gets tiring. It would be ok if he was willing to sit while being held, but no, he wants to walk around and look at stuff. Since he is a scooting fool, he is getting in to everything. He has an obsession with cords and wires. That kid can spot a wire from a mile away, and as soon as he gets to it, it goes directly into his mouth.

Sleep: It's still about 50/50 whether or not he sleeps through the night. He is on no schedule what so ever. His napping has no rhyme or reason, and whether not he sleeps through the night is hit or miss. I wonder is this is a look into his personality, as a non scheduled free spirit. haha.

Clothes: Hayes is outgrowing most of his 9 month clothes now. He wears anything from 9 months to 2T. He has outgrown almost all of his jammies. We just bought him some at Costco the other day, that are 2T! The sleeves are a little long, but lets hope he can wear it for awhile. He is still in size 4 diapers. They had a coupon at Costco for Huggies, so that's what he is wearing right now.

Nothing too exciting has been going on in our neck of the woods. We did take Hayes and "Uncle" Joe to Cabella's. It was so funny, we were standing outside looking at boats, and the salesman came up and told me I could put Hayes in the boat and let him run around if I wanted. I just laughed and told him he was only 6 months old, the guys mouth literally dropped open. haha I knew Hayes was big but I definitely don't think he looks like a toddler.
On Saturday for Father's Day, Chris and Joe went fishing at Baker Lake, and got soaked. Then all day Sunday Chris worked on boat motors. haha. He said he wanted a redo of his fishing trip, hopefully we will get some nice weather soon, so he can actually enjoy fishing.

MAMA

That's right! That little word came out of that little boys sweet mouth! I walked into the room last night and he was laying on the floor and he turned and looked at me and said Mama!
Oh and he is also busy working on trying to crawl. He gets up on all fours and rocks and then falls over. Too cute!

Memorial Day Weekend

I had an awesome LONG weekend with that little guy. Oh and his daddy!

Friday my mom took me down to Burlington to go shopping for some new clothes for my birthday. We went to Kohl's and I got 2 tops. Then we went to Five Guys for lunch. So yummy, and way too much food. Hayes sat up in the booster chair at lunch and in the cart at Kohl's. He is getting to be such a big boy! There was another baby who was 6 months at Five Guys, and he just quietly sat in his carseat sucking on his binky. Haha not Hayes, he had to be sitting up and was trying to grab everything around him. I have a feeling he is going to give us a run for our money as soon as he is actually mobile!

Anyway after lunch it was gorgeous outside, so we skipped going to Old Navy, and just made a quick stop for some beer at Fred Meyer's and headed home.
That night Chris and I got to go for a drive ALONE! It was so nice, we just drove around and talked for about 3 hours. When he asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I told him I just wanted to go for a drive and maybe get dinner.

Saturday morning was a monumental day for me! Not only did I turn 30!, but I also got my first big girl hair cut. That's right I had never had an actually hair cut. I had my hair short ( shoulder length) once in my life, when I was in middle school. Other than that, I have kept it anywhere between the middle of my back and my butt! My friend Leigh from high school did it for me. She was so excited that I actually let her cut my hair. haha. Oh well it was time. It used to take me a couple of hours to wash and dry my hair, now I can do it within an hour. That's a big deal.

After my haircut, I met up with Chris and we went to the Ski to Sea parade where my mom and Hayes were. We planned to just pick up Hayes and leave, but we ended up staying for the whole thing. Hayes slept through almost entire parade. Even when the fire trucks honked their horns. Silly baby, if someone coughs at home he wakes up, but he can sleep through air horns, go figure!
My brother walking in the parade with Whatcom CC holding the mascot, an Orca

When we left the parade we drove around Lake Samish and then went up to Chris's parents house to visit with his mom. Then we came home and had a BBQ for my birthday and Memorial Day.

Sunday we went down to Whidbey Island and looked at some property. We had a late lunch at Mi Pueblo. A yummy Mexican restaurant in Oak Harbor, looking over the bay. After that we just cam home a relaxed the rest of the night.

Monday was just a lazy day spent at home. I think Hayes loved being able to stay home all day with just Mama and Daddy. That never happens. Chris and I even took a nap while Hayes did. It was just what we needed to end the long weekend.
