Weekend Wrap-up

I work a short day on Friday, so when I got off work. We did a mini photo shoot. Haha. The baby is cute, the background, not so much. I should really pay more attention to all the baby crap when I take pictures.

Anyway then in the afternoon we went and picked up my step daughter A for the weekend. She hasn't been over since New Years because she ended up having something planned on each of our weekends. Ah the life of an 11 year old girl, I have a feeling it is only going to get worse.

It was nice having A because she loved to just sit and make faces and entertain Hayes. he wasn't such a fan of her holding him though. He was much happier to just sit in his chair and have her talk to him.

It was actually decent weather this weekend. It was sunny and I think we got up to about 60 degrees! So on Saturday mom and A did some gardening and I put Hayes in the Bjorn and walked around through the field.  Mom's garden is usually a lot further along by now, but since she has been watching Hayes since I went back to work, she hasn't really gotten many chances to be outside. That and the wonderful rain and snow that we have been having lately!

Saturday night A, Hayes and I started a puzzle. Exciting I know. It was so cute though, as I was going through the puzzle pieces looking for edges, Hayes was just watching so intently, like he couldn't wait to get his sticky little hands on the pieces and see how they taste. It seems like everything goes in his mouth lately. I was holding him yesterday, while I was dishing up my dinner plate, and I looked over and he had a hand full of my hair in his mouth. Yummy!

Yesterday we had nice weather too, so we spent some time outside and BBQ'd some chicken. Hayes wasn't so sure what to think about being outside.

He enjoyed it for a little while but then I think he started getting tired, and it was too bright for him to fall asleep, because I brought him in and put him in his swing and he fell right to sleep. He hardly ever sleep in his swing, so he must have been tired.

Speaking of tired, Hayes must being going through a growth spurt. Saturday night I think he nursed all night so I just kept him in bed with me. He got up for the day at 7:30, had a bottle at about 8 then fell back asleep until noon! Then last night he was at 1, 3:30 and 5 to eat. Then he decided not to go back to sleep. Grr, I have know clue how people get their babies one a schedule. If you have any advice, I would love to hear it.

Anyway, we stopped on the way to take A home last night and got a Dairy Queen ice cream cone. Chris is still working out of town so we had a pretty lazy weekend! It would have been perfect if I could have gotten just a little more sleep. I'm kinda draggin' butt today. How was your weekend?

Target Tuesday Link-up

I know, I know 2 posts in 1 day, what is the world coming to? Well I am making an effort, to comment more on other people's blogs and to write more on mine. I have realized I am fairly lacking in the real world friends, so why not make some blogger friends?!

So here it goes: the list of things I want from Target
I would love to do a backyard BBQ with these lights strung between trees

A couple juicy historical romance novels

A few new country CD's
Some super cute bedding for a certain little boy (if he ever gets his own bed)
This looks like fun, thankfully we have a little while until Hayes is old enough for this
I could use some new long and lean tanks too

Too Cute!

So I just figured out how to make a photo collage and I'm in love! I know, I know it's so easy I'm not sure why I have never done it before, probably because I have never tried! Or because I have never had such a cute subject. I hardly have any photos on my computer at work so I will have to wait to do more. But here is my first attempt (expect many, many more)
Right now I have this as the wallpaper on my computer, and I keep wanting to minimize all my programs so I can stare at my little (big) boy. Makes for a very productive day ;)

Rested

Ahh Hayes slept through the night last night! (hopefully I am not jinxing myself) Hayes has woken up at least twice a night since he was born to eat. He has thankfully, always gone right back to sleep. But on Friday night he only woke up once each night he slept for about a 7 hour stretch. Then again Saturday night he woke up once. I thought this was awesome, but then low last night he slept 9 hours! 9 hours that means I got 8 straight hours of sleep. I am pretty sure I have not slept that long in almost a year. Even when I was pregnant I would wake up once or twice during the night to use the bathroom. Anyway I just had to document this. Fingers crossed that he keeps this up.
Oh also during the day he is going for much longer stretches without eating. Sometimes 6 or 7 hours between feedings during the day CRAZY! this from a boy who a few short weeks ago seemed like he was eating constantly.
Sorry I know I just shared this picture yesterday, but it's just too darn cute, and I think maybe sucking on his thumb is helping with the sleep?

3 Months

Stats: Hayes is growing like a weed. He didn't have a Dr. appointment this month so I'm not sure how big he is, but I'm guessing he is around 18 pounds and 26" long.
Milestones: Hayes has found his hands this month, and he loves them! Most of the time he has his whole hand, or both hands in his mouth. He has also started sucking his thumb, and it's just so darn cute. Let's hope it is just a stage though. We have gotten a couple of real giggles from him, but most of the time, he still just squeals when he is happy or excited. Hayes loves to smile. Whenever he sees a familiar face, he just lights up. I hope he is always such a happy little boy!
Hayes has also started rolling over consistently. It is hard to keep him on tummy time, because as soon as you set him down, he just rolls over.
We started the Bumbo this month too and he is ok with it for a couple of minutes, but then he is ready to get out, and he lets you know it!

Feeding: Lately Hayes has been eating more at each feeding and going longer between feedings, hopefully that will lead towards him sleeping through the night! Right now he is eating about 6 ounces every 6 or so hours.
Behavior: Hayes is still such a happy baby! Mornings are still his best time, he is so talkative then. This month Hayes has started whining when he is tired, but usually you can just hold him tight and rock him, and he is asleep in minutes. He makes the cutest little crabby face when he is upset though, I will have to get a picture, he sticks his bottom lip out and just pouts.
Sleep: That hasn't changed much this month. Hayes is still waking up twice a night to eat and then he goes right back to sleep. About 1 day a week he will take good naps, but the other days, you lay him down, then look over in about a half hour and he is playing with his blanket instead of sleeping. Oh well at least he doesn't do this at night (knock on wood)

Clothes: Hayes is wearing 6 months to 12 months clothes. He is starting to look like such a baby instead of a newborn. He is so much easier to hold because he actually hugs you back, so I can dress him in actual clothes, instead of just jammies all the time. Hayes is still wearing size 3 diapers from Target.

Chris was home for a couple of weeks this month, so Hayes got some quality daddy time!

We also got a baby Bjorn this month from Jessica at work. Hayes loves it! I use it when we go to Costco or the store, or to just walk around outside on a nice day. ( Which I think we have had 2 nice days the past month, unlike the rest of the country:( It's crazy when Chris is in North Dakota and he is wearing a t-shirt because it is 7o degrees, and I'm at home in Washington and I have to use 4 wheel drive to get to work because there is snow! Crazy weather)
