This is from the back of the book
Laughter, Romance, and Action Abound in This New Series from Mary Connealy
Swept
away when her wagon train attempts a difficult river crossing, Ruthy
MacNeil isn't all that upset at being separated from the family who
raised her. All they've ever done is work her to the bone. She prayed
for a chance to get away, and then came the raging flood. Alive but
disoriented, she's rescued by Luke Stone...so unfortunately, there are
more chances to die in her immediate future.
Luke is heading home
to reclaim the ranch stolen from his family. But the men who killed his
father are working hard to ensure Luke doesn't make it alive. He has no
choice but to keep moving. Still, he can't just abandon Ruthy, so
she'll have to come along.
I really liked this book! I haven't really been able to get back into reading since Hayes was born, but I think this book did the trick. I would consider it an adventure romance set in the Old West. Perfect for me. This was book one in the Trouble in Texas series. I don't know when the next book in the series comes out, but I will be sure to get it.
Ruthy is in a wagon train with her adoptive family and the wagon gets trapped in a flash flood, Ruthie is the only one that survives. She is rescued by Luke and together they fight to get his ranch back.
I wold highly recommend this book for anyone who likes Western historical fiction. I enjoyed Mary Connealy's writing style, it was easy to read and hard to put down!
