Revolt Week 3
Still keeping up. The work outs feels so good, and my ab muscles are super sore. No movement on the scale this week, but we will go ahead and blame that on the time of the month. I will be doing my measurements at the end of the week so I will let you guys know!

WWTKW Tech Time
{no. 1} How connected are you to your phone? Do you always have it on you? Not very much at all. I try to have it on my so Chris can call but I really only ever get calls from him or my mom. I actually misplace my cell phone quite often. It really isn't that important to me.
{no. 2} Would you be able to be away from your computer for an entire week? That would be so nice, that would mean no work! hehe. I don't really have anything to do on it at night anyway, since I suck at blogging!
{no. 3} If you had to get rid of one of the following, which would it be and why? Cell phone, computer, or TV? TV we haven't had cable since the beginning of the year and I really haven't missed it at all.
{no. 4} Do you think you could ever live off the grid? Yes! I would love it, well probably until I got bored! haha I always say I would love to go be a hermit up in the hills.
{no. 5} Tell us about a time you disconnected from technology/the world and how you dealt with it. Was it good or bad? I really am not a fan of technology so it is no big deal. Everytime we go camping or on vacation, I have no connection with technology. I am really not that connected to technology. The only reason I am on the internet quite a bit is I work in front of a computer. If I had a job where I didn't use a computer, I would probably lose all touch with the technology world. But then I would miss all of you.

Revolt Week 2
I just wanted to do a quick update on how Revolt is going. Last week I was only able to get in 3 of the 5 workouts =( I was just not home for long enough. I also ended up having about 3 cheat days last week! Ooopps! But by some miracle I am still down another 2 pounds. That's 8 pounds in 2 weeks. Just shows you that lean muscle is constantly burning fat! Woohoo. Oh and I am wearing some jeans that I haven't worn in 5 years.
This week my workouts and diet are going much better so hopefully I will be able to report even bigger changes next week!

Day 10 May Blogging
Day 10: Friday May 10th Most Embarrassing Moment
Oh gosh... Ok let me set the scene.I'm in 5th grade, I am 5'7" and well over 100 pounds. I am by far the biggest kid in my class, in fact I am bigger than my teacher by at least 4 inches which I get made fun of for on a daily basis. I am wearing purple stretchy pants and some equally eighties top. I ask the teacher to be excused to use the bathroom. School bathrooms are gross, so I did what my mom had always taught me, and laid down toilet paper on the seat. I get done wash my hands and head back up to my classroom. I start walking back up to my desk at the front of the room, and everyone starts busting up laughing and pointing. Yep you guessed it, I had a stream of TP hanging out the back of my pants. I quick ripped it out and ran out of the room. The teacher calmed everyone down and all was forgotten

Day 8 May Blogging
Day 8: Wednesday May 8th Words of Wisdom
Be yourself! It is so easy to get caught up in what other people are doing or with what other people have. To compare your life to theirs, to try to make your life more like theirs. God has a plan for each and every one of us. We are meant to be unique and different. Life would be so boring if everyone was the same. Express yourself enjoy the life you have been give. Don't waste a single minute being unhappy or dissatisfied. Be who you were meant to be, because you are you for a reason. Be a leader not a follower. Enjoy life, make it your own!

Day 7 May Blogging
Day 7: Tuesday May 7th The thing(s) you are most afraid of
Truthfully I don't even want to talk about this or think about it. It makes me cry it scares me that if I think too much about it, it might happen.
I am afraid of dying. I am not afraid of the act, or what will happen to me afterwards, I am afraid for my family. I can not imagine Hayes growing up without a mommy. Chris would not be able to raise the kids without me(he tells me this all the time). It all just wouldn't work
In the same thought I am afraid of something happening to Chris or Hayes or anyone else in the family. We are so close and I rely on them all so much I don't think I could keep on without them. Ok now I am crying... See best not to think about and just hope and pray that we all live forever =)
What about you? What are you afraid of?
They are my world! |

Day 6 May Blogging
Day 6: Monday May 6th What do you do?
Besides working I am a wife, a mama, step-mom, dog mommy, a daughter, a granddaughter, an auntie, a friend.
Lately I don't feel like I do much other than work and wrangle kids. Chris has been working at least 12 hour days, usually more like 16 hour days. So I have pretty much been a single mom. Wow I don't know how people do it. Thank goodness I have my mom just a couple houses up, there is no way I could do this all on my own.
I wouldn't trade it for anything and I know some day I will look back and miss all this craziness but right now I am just on auto-pilot.
So what do I do? What don't I do? I have so many roles in this crazy life. The most important of all of those is being there for my family. I work daily on being the best wife and mommy I can be. I think my roles outside of my job are the most important.
How about you what do you do? I used to "do" more things, but my priorities have changed since having kids and family has became my focus.
Revolt Week 1
So far, so good! I am really liking the workout, I love that it is under a half hour! Finally something I can fit in to my schedule after the kids are in bed. I am already starting to feel stronger. Just sitting at my desk I can feel that I have better posture.
So what is Revolt? It is an online workout and meal plan. I just finished week 1 of the 6 week challenge. Here's to being comfortable in a swim suit this summer!
I'm pretty sure I have even lost a couple of pounds already! Woohoo. I will have to get back to you with my actual stats! haha

Day 5 May Blogging
Day 5: Sunday May 5th Publicly profess your love to a fellow blogger.
Haha, Definitely Nicole she was my first bloggy friend. I had created my blog but had only done a few posts. I was blog stalking some blogs but I don't think I had ever commented, or if I had, no one had written me back. Anyway I stumbled across Nicole's blog and I was reading old posts of hers, you know trying to get to know her without even talking to her. haha. I came across a picture of her Prince Charming and all I could think was how he looked like Garth Brooks from the early 90s. So I bit the bullet and commented. I didn't really know how comments worked then and I figured she would probably never see it( I didn't have mine set up for comments to go to my email) but to my surprise she wrote me back in a matter of minutes!
Nicole is awesome about always replying to a blog comment! She also comments on every single blog post I write! We talk on email almost everyday. We even text back and forth on holidays. When I started blogging I had no clue that you could actually make real friends on here. Oh and Nicole doesn't just blog at Life's a Beach but she also has other blogs. Tuesdays at the shack a blog about Tuesday night dinners at the shack, Cheese in my Macaroni Nicole's cooking and restaurant review blog, and I like it on the Table another cooking blog that she co-writes on!
Nicole is one busy girl! So what are you waiting for go check her out. Give her some love!

Day 4 May Blogging
Day 4 Saturday May 4th Your favorite quote and why
If your not first your last. Haha just kidding I heard that this morning. I really don't have a favorite quote nor do I think about quotes often. Every once in awhile I will pin a cute one on Pinterest, but for the life of me I can't remember a single one!
I have always liked, "Frankly, my Dear, I don't give a damn." I'm not really sure why, I just do.
Here are a couple of other noteworthy ones:
He who dies with the most toys wins
Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right.
Try to learn something about everything and everything about something
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain
How wrong it is for a woman to expect the man to build the world she wants, rather than to create it herself
The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds, and the pessimist fears this is true
Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance
Sorry no sources for any of those. How about you? Do you have a quote that just speaks to you?
I was just thinking I do have a favorite bible verse, it is short and sweet
Proverbs 31:12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life

Day 3 May Blogging
Day 3: Friday May 3rd Things that make you uncomfortable
I think I can some that up in one word. People!
Yep every time I am uncomfortable it is caused by people. Whether it is meeting new people, talking to a large group, dancing in front of, or even when I have no room on the bed. It is always a person making me uncomfortable.
I couldn't tell you that last time that and animal or a plant made me uncomfortable, but man people tend to do it quite often.
I am not a fan of making phone calls to anyone other than my husband and my mom, I always feel awkward and uncomfortable around new people. I refuse to dance in front of people unless I have some liquid courage.
Chris tends to make me uncomfortable on a regular if not daily basis. I always wake up with a knee in my back, or with no covers, or 6" of space on my side of the bed. Yep he is definitely the biggest culprit!
So how about you, what makes you uncomfortable? (wow I used that word way too many times and it is kind of awkward to type!)
Surely I am not the only one who is only pushed out of my comfort zone by people, really nothing else phases me!

Day 2 May blogging
Day 2: Thursday May 2nd Educate us on something you know a lot about.
Well... How about Whatcom County, Washington? I'm sure most of you no nothing about it, or where it is, so why not?
Well let's get the most important thing out of the way, I was born here! haha just kidding, well I was born here, and actually I am the 5th generation here. My family was part of the original homesteaders to the area in the 1870s.. Whatcom County is the furthest Northwest you can go in the continental United States. We are actually closer to Vancouver, BC than we are to Seattle, WA.
Bellingham is the largest city, the rest of the county is rural farmland and mountains. The Puget Sound is the Western border and Whatcom County actually continues over the Cascade mountain range, into Eastern WA though mostly not accessible by roads.
That is Bellingham Bay in the foreground and Mt Baker in the background |
Lots of land is in the National forest |
Actually the majority of Whatcom is not accessible by roads. Well paved roads I should say. We have a lot of logging roads the crisscross up through the foothills.
No one ever thinks of rednecks coming from the North, but since we are so rural and out of the way, there are quite a few. (present company included)
Parade through t |
There is a large farming community that my husband is proudly a part of.
There isn't a whole lot to do here. We have the NW Washington Fair in Lynden in August, the Ski to Sea Race and parade memorial day weekend.
We have beautiful weather in the summer and most people that live here spend most of their time outdoors. It is a rare occasion when the temperature hits 90. Mt Baker is really popular for skiing and snowboarding in the winter. In 1999 Mt Baker hit a record for the most snow fall ever recorded in the US in a single season, 95 feet, that record still stands. It is funny though because we hardly get any snow in the lowlands because we are right up against the water.
Ross Lake from our weekend getaway last year |
Oh and there are at least 60 lake in the county also, the largest is Ross Lake at about 23 miles long. There is lots of fishing and boating done on those lakes.
There in your geography lesson for today. How about you? I would love to learn more about where you are from.
